Life hangs on a very thin thread and the cancer of time is complacency. If you are going to do something, do it now. Tomorrow is too late.’

Pete Goss

ECHO Sailing was set up in the spring of 2010 as initiative to help support Andy Sinclair’s Campaign towards the 2011 ISAF Youth Sailing Worlds in the Multihull Class through the making of products out of old sails that were of no use to sailors any more and would of otherwise been throw away.

ECHO sailing has now expanded and matured, the bag designs have been improved and the range widened and the use of sails has widened. Andy now works to use nearly every part of a sail, reusing the bolt rope, cutting out eyelets and sewing them in and using the leach lines a pull cords and zip strings.

Future Plans: Andy hopes to expand, but not just bag making, but the promotion of ‘blue’ sailing, using our natural resources better and building a better respect for the sea. Along side this Andy has always been frustrated by the problem of a lack of Young people keelboat racing, or if they are there being no frame for them to meet up and contact each and be able to race together. Now with Robbie Southwell part of team hopes to improve this and bring better communication between young keelboat sailors
